Writing is harder and more time-consuming than almost anyone guesses at the beginning of a project, and we congratulate you if you've brought a manuscript to the point of sharing it for editing. We assume that most manuscripts—let's call them drafts—will be in some state of disrepair. Maybe that's why you're sending one.
We prefer to work with completed drafts. Still, if yours isn't finished, let's see if we can meet you where you are. We're especially glad to assist students and researchers with limited English.
Because every editorial project is different, all we can do for now is to orient you about our fees. For most projects, we invoice at a rate of US$60 per hour, simply adding up Gloria's hours and Kevin's. If you need to know the budget at the outset of a project, we'll work with you to determine that.
As a special opportunity to get to know us and our services, we'll edit your draft of a standalone abstract for a flat fee of $60.
Researchers on a budget may wish to try our abstracts editing service before deciding whether to hire us for a paper. We weigh every word in an abstract, which is one of the most read forms of scientific communication and one of the main ways you'll be discovered in online searches. Ideally, we'll have a draft of your full-length paper to consult while editing the abstract.

We view the editing process as a conversation. From the first contact, we'll seek to understand the substance of your work and to evaluate the state of your draft. We promise confidentiality. In many cases, we'll schedule a call with the aim of kicking off the project.
Normally, our work centers on written expression in your draft, including tables and figures. We'll make multiple passes to ensure good logical development, clarity of meaning, correct grammar, and precision in usage.
We're aware that editors take on many, many other jobs such as formatting references or thoroughly applying AMA style. Please do not assume that we'll perform any task not agreed upon at the start of the project. In our first contacts, we'll do what we can to ensure that expectations align.
Turnaround time depends mainly on the length of your final project. We are prompt and dependable, but we don't offer rush service.
